Usually the better jobs go to freelance writers, though far more remote positions have opened up weekly for the staff writers. Jobs that were always in-house now hire experienced writers, industry experts and seasoned authors for 100% full-time work.

Since the pandemic, more companies warmed to the idea of a remote workforce or at least part of the workforce. The biggest change is hybrid working. Many writer jobs require a hybrid arrangement where you work partly at the employer’s office and the rest of the week at home.

Upwork has shaped up more recently by clamping down on scams which were too ubiquitous for many years. So they hit the top 7 but I will be expecting consistent flushing of scammers from them.
