Back in 2012, the Write Job Today began as a source of remote writing jobs for freelancers and staff writers, and a networking portal for remote writers worldwide. Join the conversations.
It’s good to talk!
That’s been BT’s slogan for many years. And it can’t be argued with in terms of how communication between people, when built on reciprocation, allows for people to share experiences and tips.
Social media groups offer a fantastic way to reach like minds in the remote writing world where both freelancers and staff writers pitch for work more than earning from it many times.
For even experienced writers, gaps occur between work contracts.
Though…. often those gaps can be filled if the writers finding themselves starved of any work knew where to look.
That’s where my LinkedIn group alongside this Substack domain comes in.

I was told years ago that freelance writing work is just not advertised enough. To an extent, that’s true. Most of the better work leads are yet to be unearthed and need to be found and pitched.
But even back in 2012, so many brands appreciated remote writers (freelance or staff) to come fill a gap in their staff skill sets.
Since the pandemic, the need to fill virtual jobs has exploded.
This change is permanent and one of the biggest growths is the need for writers. All of them from copywriters, to bloggers, to ghost writers, to SEO writers, to subject matter experts.
That’s why this Substack and the LinkedIn group exist.
I also have a Google Doc with lots of useful sites for finding work. Plus, as many jobs remain open for days to weeks past the first advertisement, you can also check out current and past jobs as smaller job updates on the document.

The LinkedIn group was actually on a bit of a hiatus for a while from 2017 until 2019. My main Digital PR and Copywriting business got in the way of me spending time on the groups.
But I kept an eye on the demanding needs for remote writers.
I could see how the need for remote staff was transforming. And for writers, that’s an amazing transition from fewer advertised positions to far more advertised remote writer jobs.
And that growth keeps blossoming.

Remote writing work is available daily to all levels of experience.
But so are the scams and the low paid content mills. I spend time in the group posting about time wasters and how to spot a scam from a mile away.
The group is also a place where writers can pick up tips, tricks and best practices for working remotely. And, it’s a place where writers can find others in the same boat as them — or who have found their way out of it.
The group is for everyone, from those who are just starting out as writers to seasoned veterans. It’s also a place where people can go to ask questions, find answers and share their own knowledge with others.
While not a group for promoting your writer services (seek B2B groups), its focus is on being a regular source of tips and leads and sits alongside this Substack page.
This Substack is where you’ll get the bulk of the job leads 2-3 times a week.
The latest remote writer job leads are here!
If not already a member of the group, be great to see you over there.
